For Lenora
For Mamaw
For Maddie
I recently saw an embroidery art exhibit at Gallery Hanahou, and it rekindled my love for hand stitching and delicately sewn lovelies. I always have the itch to be crafty, but hard as it may be to believe, finding supplies for such things in New York can be virtually impossible and exhausting (not to mention pricey!) Luckily threads are cheap, and we are, after all, in a recession... so feeding off of my exhibit inspired motivation, these are what happened when some recent birthdays rolled around. I am pretty pleased with how they turned out, considering I am still an amateur.
If you've got a reason to expect something... You better keep your eye on your mailbox (wink wink)!
I've wanted to take up hand stitching as you have for some time now! But one craft project at a time (currently I am partaking in digital art).
ReplyDeleteAw! I love the one for your Mamaw! I'll have to show Benjamin these. He's recently started embroidering along with his cross-stitching. He's got an Etsy shop now (!): http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5000172

@Melissa: Mamaw's was indeed actually for Ida Mae's 85th! But don't give up hope, somebody's got a bubby-sissy birthday soon!
